Argo Alumni Night returns
By Carol McGowan
The tradition of Alumni Night at Argo Community High School returns on Friday, January 14.
The Alumni Dinner, at which the school provides a free buffet dinner to alumni, will take place from 5-8 p.m. in the Bulow Auditorium. Many of all ages have gathered in the past for great food and conversation before heading into the famed Swanson Gymnasium to watch the basketball games.
A few years back, the school started an Alumni Basketball Game, which many alumni have come back to take part in. That game would normally take place before the varsity games, but the Alumni Game has been cancelled this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
The girls varsity basketball game vs. Shepard will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the boys game to follow at 7 p.m.
The official 2022 Alumni After Hours event will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight at the new Wintrust Sports Complex, 5499 W. 65th St. in Bedford Park. Entry is a $5 donation that will benefit the Argo Higher Education Foundation. There will be appetizers and a cash bar.
There will also be limited free laser tag and game tokens on a first come, first serve basis. More games will be available for purchase during the event.
