Orland Park Mayor James Dodge will present his first State of the Village Address.
Dodge, who took over the top job in the village in May, will speak at noon on March 31 at the Orland Park Civic Center,14750 S. Ravinia Ave.
The event is co-hosted by the Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce and the mayor is looking forward to highlighting and updating village business since he and a new board have been in office.
“The State of the Village is an opportunity to reflect on what we have accomplished together and to share our vision for the future,” Dodge said in a news release. “I look forward to discussing our progress and the work ahead as we continue moving Orland Park forward.”
CPW strategy
Since Dodge took over in May, he has wanted some clarity and strategy for Centennial Park West.
At the Feb. 16 Committee of the Whole meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Ray Piattoni outlined some of the strategies and goals for the facilities.
Included in the summary are balancing community access and neighborhood compatibility, defining appropriate event types, guidance for ticketed and non-ticketed events, ticket pricing and managing the impact of noise, traffic, parking and public safety for the neighborhood.
He said the village will assess existing conditions and reach out to the community for its input.
Those in the community to be engaged in this study are residents living near CPW, all other residents, related village advisory boards and commissions, cultural nonprofit organizations and business partners, key village personnel, the Orland Park Chamber of Commerce and the village board.
