Breakfast lovers in Orland Park finally have a new spot to start their day. First Watch, the national daytime dining chain, officially opened its doors Monday, Jan. 26, in the former Original Pancake House on La Grange Road.
The restaurant hosted a soft opening over the weekend for family and friends before welcoming the public. Todd Rose, general manager of the Orland Park location, said in a statement that while the French toast is a crowd favorite, his personal pick is the chimichanga. “You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu,” he added.

First Watch has earned attention not just for its food, but also for the way it treats its employees. The chain was named the No. 1 Most Loved Workplace® in America in 2024 and 2025 by Newsweek and the Best Practice Institute, thanks to its “You First” philosophy and one-shift, “No Nights Ever” schedule.
The restaurant is also nationally recognized for its breakfast and brunch offerings. Last year, First Watch topped Newsweek’s Reader’s Choice Awards for Best Breakfast, beating out competitors based on votes from readers across the country. Chris Tomasso, president and CEO, said in a statement, “This recognition goes out to our more than 15,000 employees who serve with intention, warmth and kindness. We look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional mornings.”
From Avocado Toast and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes to Million Dollar Bacon and fresh juices like the Kale Tonic, First Watch is known for its seasonal, chef-driven menu. For every kid’s meal served, the chain donates a portion to local causes, raising more than $1.7 million to date.
The Orland Park location is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., giving locals plenty of chances to check out the new spot and see why First Watch has become a favorite across the country.
