George Gray, 71, of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
George was a member of The Open Door/Nazarene Church of Lowell. He was a town manager for many years for Lowell and surrounding towns and a county administrator in Illinois. George and Nancy enjoyed traveling together and birding. He was also an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Jonathan (Emily) and Bethany; grandchildren, Elaina, Celia, and Johnny; his mother, Rosann; sister, Susan (David) Selby; nephews, Tyler, Trent (Kate), and Kyle (Anouk) Shelton. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis.
Cremation will precede visitation, which will be held on Saturday, January 24, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 1 p.m., at Sheets Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
