Keyshay Hampton, 29, of the 24000 block of Jackson Blvd., Chicago, was charged Dec. 20 with retail theft after she gave customers several hundred dollars worth of discounts while working as a cashier at Macy’s, police said.
Police said that during a sales transaction on Dec. 19, Hampton scanned 41 items then deleted 33 items and sold the customer eight items totalling $328.
Police said she then placed the eight items that were paid for plus the 33 items not paid for in a Macy’s shopping bag and gave them to the customer. The total for all the merchandise was $2,388.
