A reader asked me why I have changed my attitude on President Trump and that provoked me to spill out these views.

I have completely changed my attitude about the president. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, recognizing that his big mouth often got in the way of some good programs, hoping that would change. But he can’t seem to stop his pettiness from getting in the way and destroying some good ideas . He is totally irresponsible and unprofessional.

I am tired of him bragging, saying things like: “This has never been done before” or “No one has done this except me” or “I will end this war quickly, in a few days” or “I am the best” and the “Economy has never been better except under me.” Trump is a pathological narcissist.

Getting NATO to pay its fair share would be important if the new Soviet tyrant  Vladimir Putin — who Trump seems to treat better than anyone else — wasn’t engaged in an unjustified war targeting Ukrainian civilians. Defend NATO. Destroy Putin.

I totally favor tougher border controls. But instead of ending loopholes in immigration and illegal alien infiltration into this country, Trump’s policies have turned into a civil war, targeting Americans who disagree with him.

I am tired of Trump lying that the economy is better than it has ever been. It’s worse. Prices at the grocery store have surged. Overall, we are spending more. Trump promised to make the economy better. It’s not.

His tariff back-and-forth threats have made things more expensive not cheaper.

Prescription costs have increased 20 percent and have not dropped.

Trump promised to end the Gaza war. It’s still raging and Americans are paying for it. Civilians are dying.

He vowed “America First,” but Trump continues to pump taxpayer money into foreign countries like Israel, making “America Last.”

Trump started a war in Venezuela because the President there called him names. Trump wants to help his billionaire oil industry friends, not everyday Americans.

Trump wanted to keep Americans safe from drugs, but Venezuela is at the bottom of the list of drug traffickers. Trump attacked Venezuela because it was a cheap fast headline and it has the largest oil resources in the world.

Attacking Venezuela doesn’t stop drugs from coming into this country. Why pardon the Honduran president who was the head of one of the biggest Central American narcotics rings?

Mexico, China and Colombia are the biggest traffickers and sources of drugs entering the United States. Why not attack them?

Trump’s pettiness is unprecedented. He was indicted and convicted of 34 felony charges, which were blocked when he became president. But like a little baby, decided to prosecute his critics.

Trump starts new battles but never ends anything.

Like a baby, Trump continues to call Joe Biden “Sleepy Joe.” But I think Trump suffers from dementia — “Dementia Don.”

Trump needs to get tough with Putin to end the rise of the new Soviet Union. Trump wants to open hotels in Moscow and St. Petersburg so he leverages American interests.

Stand by NATO against the Commies. Trump won’t defend the Rule of Law or our Constitution.

Trump is the worst thing that has happened to this country. He has turned failed politicians like Gov. JB Pritzker into heroes.

He is a misogynist, saying terrible things about women, calling them “piggy,” and verbally abusing female reporters who ask questions he dislikes.

I could go on forever but I won’t bore you.

The bottom line is Trump is nothing like he promised. He can’t stay focused on his agenda or on what’s important to the American people. He only cares about his and his family’s financial interests and profits, not with the American people.

One example of this is that he released the unpublished Jobs Report last week on his “Truth Social” platform (an oxymoron) the day before it was officially released to the public and business community. Why? To raise the value of his social platform making it more valuable and forcing people to subscribe.

He can’t control himself. Our only hope is for the dysfunctional inept Democrats to take control of the House and bring America to a standstill, stopping Trump from dragging us over the cliff into the abyss.

The American people are stuck in the middle between two dysfunctional national political parties, Democrats and Republicans, and a misogynist egomaniac president.

Being paralyzed in the middle is far better than going over the edge for either.

  1. Ray Hanania your opinion means nothing. You seem to have a bad case of TDS. Trump is not starting a civil war, but he is enforcing federal immigration laws that should have been enforced for the last 50 years. I seen the village of Summit go from a population of less than 10% being Hispanic in the 1970’s to the population of Summit being at least 75% Hispanic or more. The school district was flooded with children of illegal foreign nationals, this in turn raised the property taxes in town. The local health clinic was flooded with illegal foreign nationals. Local food pantries were overwhelmed with illegal foreign nationals. The influx of illegal Hispanic foreign national gang bangers put a strain on the police department. My older brother was a Summit police officer for over 30 years and dealt with these illegal foreign nationals on a daily basis. I knew a time before Hispanic street gangs were in Summit and seen how destructive these gangs can be with the violence, drugs and disrespect of the citizens who live there. I find it assuming that Democrats are now complaining about Trump and Federal law enforcement lawfully doing their jobs are somehow causing chaos and mayhem in the street yet where were you and the Democrats when the gang bangers, drug cartels and illegal foreign nationals who flooded our country were causing chaos, violence and mayhem across the whole Cook County area in many town besides Summit. Trump did NOT start a war with Venezuela but the U.S. government did carry out a operation to arrest a criminal who had been indicted by a Federal court in the United States and who Joe Biden put a $25 million bounty on his head. As for the idea that Venezuela is not a big producer or big drug trafficker is just utterly uneducated and wrong. The neighbor to Venezuela is Columbia which is the largest producer of cocaine in the world. Columbia produces more cocaine now than when Paulo Escobar was in charge and alive. Most of the cocaine now a days gets shipped through Venezuela as that country is a lawless area that has a corrupt government and military that facilitates the flow of drugs through the country. Those drugs are shipped to many Caribbean islands that have big problems with drug gangs and violence. Those drugs in turn are then shipped out to the United States and Europe. Apparently, you don’t follow the news of those island counties and how the President of Tobago & Trinidad had asked for help from Trump because of the drug gangs and the flow of drugs. Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerta Rico all have big problems with drug gangs and the flow of drugs. As for the President of Honduras, I’m sure part of the reason he got a pardon is because he is singing like a bird and informing the U.S. Government everything he knows about the drug cartels and the way they ship the drugs, the communication network and the flow of money that surrounds it. Mexico is a narco state and Trump has stated that that country is next on the list. The United States has been at WAR WITH DRUGS since 1971. The drug cartels have killed countless American citizens for decades and decades. Many directly by the drugs and many more by the hands of the drug cartels and gangs that transport and sell them. Teenage gang bangers sell the drugs on the streets of the United States and use the money they make to buy guns. In turn they car jack, rob, steal kill and cause havoc in every single city, town and neighborhood within the United States. Teddy Roosevelt was a loud, opiniated, boisterous President who changed the United States for the better and who changed world politics. Trump is doing the same thing. Get over it. You are wrong with so much of your opinion and are on the wrong side of history.
