Jan Kubani

Jan Kubani, affectionately known as Janek, passed into the loving arms of his Savior on December 14, 2025, at his home in Hickory Hills, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on June 19, 1950, in the peaceful town of Spytkowice, Poland, Janek’s life was a testament to his enduring faith, strength of character, and unwavering dedication to his family.

A man of deep Christian faith, Janek embodied the teaching that “Love is patient, love is kind” from 1 Corinthians 13:4. His love shone brightly through his actions and the caring way he treated each person he met. After honorably serving in the military in Poland, he continued his life of service as a compassionate paramedic, where he assisted those in need with a gentle hand and a reassuring voice.

Janek and his beloved wife, Katarzyna, created a beautiful life together, first in Poland and later in the United States, laying down roots that would sustain their family for generations to come. Their love blossomed into a family with the arrival of their three daughters: Ewa, the devout and caring eldest; Bogusława, the spirited and determined middle child; and Agata, the loving and thoughtful youngest. His role as a father was one he held most dear, and he raised his daughters with the understanding that “The greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13).

Blessed later in life with two grandsons, Łukasz and Patryk, Janek took great joy in passing on his heritage, teaching them the Polish language and sharing in their care. He was a central figure in their lives, always available for guidance, support, and the occasional blueberry-picking adventure. His sons-in-law, Brian and Piotr, were embraced as his own, woven into the fabric of a family bound by love and mutual respect.

Janek was known far and wide for his handy nature and generous spirit. There was no task too difficult or request too great for him to tackle; he was always there with tools in hand and a heart ready to serve. His life was a constant outpouring of love through his ability to fix everything and anything, a true reflection of his generous soul.

In reminiscing about Janek, his family often recalls his loving nature, remarkable generosity, and the wisdom he shared through his actions. He was a man who worked tirelessly—not for personal gain, but for the warmth and security of the home he built for his family.

Jan Kubani, a loving husband, cherished father, doting grandfather, and friend to many, leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and quiet strength. He now rests peacefully, free from pain, secure in the promise of eternal life.
