The Roberts Park Fire Protection District wrapped up its annual Santa Run weekend, with firefighters collecting winter clothing and toys for local families while spreading holiday cheer through Justice and Hickory Hills.
The department partnered with several local organizations to ensure residents have warm clothing and children receive gifts this holiday season, fire officials said.
Crews focused on neighborhoods north of 87th Street on Saturday and areas south of 87th Street on Sunday. Santa’s decorated fire truck used sirens to announce his arrival in each neighborhood.
The fire district posted route maps on social media before the weekend runs and provided a real-time Santa tracker for residents to follow the truck’s progress.
