Long before she opened The NURSEry, Lindsey Langan felt the weight many new parents know well — the uncertainty, the information overload, and the quiet fear of doing something wrong the moment a newborn comes home.
“I had a child in the NICU before I even became a nurse,” she said. “I remember bringing him home and feeling completely overwhelmed.”
That early experience, paired with more than a decade of neonatal nursing, eventually shaped Langan’s vision for The NURSEry, an infant wellness center she opened in September 2025 in the Mt. Greenwood community.
Langan, DNP, APRN-FPA, NNP-BC, CLS, NTMNC, is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specializing in infant care, a Certified Lactation Specialist and certified in Neonatal Touch and Massage. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Saint Xavier University before completing her Doctorate in Nursing at Rush University.
The NURSEry blends that clinical experience with a distinctly personal mission. The center offers nurse-led newborn education for parents, caregivers and grandparents, along with infant massage classes and lactation support including prenatal and postnatal consultations and classes.
Langan said she saw a clear need for evidence-based, judgment-free guidance, especially as social media continues to blur the lines between expertise and opinion.
“Families have access to so much information, but not all of it is safe or reliable,” she said. “Having a place where families can get solid, evidence-based education from seasoned nurses is incredibly important.”
That includes supporting lactating parents, an area Langan believes is underserved in her neighborhood and surrounding communities.
“It goes back to the idea that it takes a village,” she said. “Educating parents, and the people who support them, creates healthier families. It’s a way I can give something meaningful back to my community.”
Langan said the work feels like an extension of her years at the bedside — connecting, teaching, and helping families find confidence in unfamiliar territory.
The NURSEry accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO for all lactation services, including group classes and both prenatal and postnatal consultations.
