Tucked on 17835 80th Avenue, Bean ‘N Breek is the kind of coffee shop that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. Owners Muhammad and Miriam Awadalla greet every customer with a smile, a friendly word, and the kind of warmth that keeps people coming back.

“It’s the melting pot of the Tinley Park community that we love,” Miriam said. “We are very customer service driven and treat each customer like family.”

Regulars know that the couple is always present, ready to chat over a cup of coffee or share a laugh. “You will always see one of us here,” Miriam said.

The name Bean ‘N Breek reflects the couple’s love of coffee. ‘Bean’ is obvious, while ‘Breek’ comes from the Arabic word for coffee pot. Their Jerusalem blend is a highlight, brewed using a traditional sand-bed method where coffee and water are boiled over hot sand. “I believe everyone should experience Arabic coffee,” Miriam said.

Muhammad, a barista with 17 years of experience, and Miriam, originally from Burbank, currently live in Shorewood. “Coffee is his life, and I love drinking coffee so right away we were a match made in heaven,” Miriam said.

Bean ‘N Breek opened in Tinley Park a year and a half ago. “Owning a coffee shop was something we always wanted to do,” Miriam said. Muhammad said it never feels like work. “When you love what you do, it’s not work,” he said.

The menu is full of original creations, from espresso blends to iced refreshers like Watermelon Mist and Blue Razz. Pastries, avocado toast, and treats from local vendors round out the offerings. Muhammad said all coffee beans at Bean ‘N Breek are exclusive to the shop, reflecting the couple’s commitment to unique flavors and quality blends.

Community is central to the shop’s mission. During November, 10% of proceeds go to a local food bank. Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., children’s storytime gives parents a chance to sip coffee and relax. Bean ‘N Breek also hosts events for local groups, including women’s networking gatherings, mental health facilitators, and teen clubs.

Starting in 2026, the couple plans to launch a mobile coffee cart that can be rented for private events and parties.

Muhammad and Miriam said Bean ‘N Breek is a place where people can slow down, connect, and enjoy coffee the way it’s meant to be, carefully crafted and shared with friends.
