Beverly J. Benn, 83, of Beecher, passed away Monday morning, October 27, 2025, at her home.
Born October 19, 1942, in Chicago Heights, she was the daughter of Norbert and Lorraine Meyer. On January 20, 1962, she married Joseph Benn at St. John United Church of Christ, Beecher.
Beverly was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting. She was the most popular lunch lady at the elementary school and loved working there. Beverly loved shopping and traveling. She also enjoyed her “Girlfriends” Club, where she met with her friends once a month, birthdays, and for Christmas. She also loved going out to eat and her dogs. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Jayne (Greg) Selk of Peotone, Joyce (Jim) Kessler, Kelly (Todd) Gregory, and Barb Benn, all of Beecher; grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Jamie, Melissa, Tabitha, and Katy; great-grandchildren, Blair, Leah, Jenna, Luke, Levi, Lakelyn, and Caroline; Aunt Donna Dare of Freeman Spur; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Benn; parents; and grandson, Ciaran Gregory.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 1, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m., at St. John United Church of Christ, Corning Road, Beecher. Burial will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery.
