On September 19, a resident reported an unlicensed and unwanted solicitor in the 500 block of Schroeder Avenue. Officers checked the area but did not locate the subject. The Peotone Police Department reminds residents all solicitors must be registered with the Village of Peotone. Registered solicitors are issued a village lanyard for identification.

On September 21, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Second Street, after reports of gunfire inside an apartment. Investigation revealed a resident accidentally discharged a firearm while cleaning it. The round traveled into the floor and wall. Officers confirmed there were no injuries and checked on neighboring tenants. The firearm was secured.

On September 25, a truck driver, at 601 S. 88th Avenue, reported while sleeping in his parked truck, unknown offender(s) entered his trailer and stole two full pallets of toothbrushes. Detectives are investigating and reviewing surveillance footage from the time of the theft.
