The scent of sizzling bacon greets Georgia Les every morning at Les Brothers Restaurant — just like it did when she was 14, bussing tables for her dad.
“I grew up here,” said Georgia, now the manager of the Oak Lawn diner. “It’s very welcoming here, and we see a lot of regulars. We make everyone feel at home.”
This year, Les Brothers Restaurant, at 8705 S. Ridgeland Ave., turns 53. Opened in 1972, the family-run spot is still going strong, one skillet and smile at a time.
“Our family has owned and operated the business since the start,” said George Les, the founder and owner. “We’ve enjoyed this long success because we focus on you — the customer.”

The plot of land where the restaurant stands used to be three separate shops, including a coffee shop.
“My father was looking across the street to open a restaurant,” George said. “But fate had different plans. We stopped here for coffee, and the owner suggested we buy this place instead.”
They did — and transformed it into a neighborhood favorite.
George’s father combined the storefronts into one full-service restaurant. Today, the family’s hands-on approach remains central.
Georgia still has her go-to menu item: “The skirt steak and eggs — it’s my absolute favorite,” she said.
The Les family’s connection to the restaurant business doesn’t stop in Oak Lawn. George’s sons, Bill and Jim, run Prime Time Restaurant & Bar in Hickory Hills.
But Les Brothers is where it all started.
“Quality does matter,” George said. “Thank you for your continued patronage. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.”

LRS Bros is a great restaurant. Reasonably priced and enough food
. Bros is s great restaurant
I worked there back in 7i and it was just half the size. Then I was a regular customer and brought my children and then grandsons there. Still the best food around and they treat you like family!
Been going there a long time. My mom and dad who are no longer here went there faithfully. Almost everyday for dinner. They loved George and Les Bros.was their favorite place. It became mine too.
Been eating there for many years. The breakfasts are on another level. You can’t beat the value. Plus the staff is the best around.
My husband and I went there for many many years, if it wasn’t breakfast it was an early dinner. Fabulous good, and service evrry time. Loved going there.

Great attitude and attention to customers..
Breakfast my favorite at Les Brothers
We’ve been going there since it opened and continue to patronize.. The owner George is always wandering around checking to see everyone is satisfied. He always donated and helped Westside Baseball when my sons played.. Great owner, great food(portions large enough to take half home) with friendly service makes your visit worthwhile. If you haven’t been there lately, stop in and you won’t be disappointed..(Also has slots)

I love Les Brothers, it’s been awhile since I’ve been there, the last time I was there I was with my Brother, he love the Place so much, he used to go there with his wife, but she passed away in 2018, the last couple times he went he was with me, but he have food delivered a couple of times before he passed away in December of 2024, his favorite food was the breakfast, A Denver Omelet with Hashbrowns and Coffee, or Country Fried Steak and Eggs with Coffee, many memories, may they both R.I.P
