Accessing Our E-books, from 1 – 3 p.m., adults: Discover how to read electronic books and magazines by using a web browser or by downloading them to a mobile device. A Crete Public Library card is required in order to log into the applications demonstrated. Attendees are asked to bring their own devices, such as Kindles, tablets, iPads, and/or mobile phones. Dazzling Dream Cars, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., adults: Chicago Auto Show historian Mitch Frumkin highlights the futuristic prototypes, dream cars, and concept vehicles that have captivated crowds for more than 80 years. Attendees have the chance to win free tickets to the 2023 Chicago Auto Show.

Saying Yes to Your Story: A Conversation with Kwame Alexander, from 7 – 8 p.m. on Zoom: Join others online for an evening of inspiration and conversation with bestselling and award-winning children’s and young adult author and poet, Kwame Alexander. Register.

Primetime for Preschool, from 1 – 2 p.m., ages four/five: During this independent storytime experience, children will spend time with other preschoolers, while enjoying stories, songs, finger plays, games, and learning stations. Register.

STEAM Tweens: Circulatory Sensations, from 6 – 7 p.m., grades third/fifth: Valentine’s Day is on the way, so learn how our hearts work. Come and build a beating heart model and participate in a fun game that shows just how hard our hearts work for us! Register.

Mardi Gras, from 6:30 – 8 p.m., adults, on Zoom: This cook-along class transports participants to New Orleans! Learn how to make three traditional Creole recipes with Chef Kristyn Slick.
