All three new hires by the Willow Springs Police Department have some experience working in the village.
But as of Jan. 27, they are officially members of the police department.
The Willow Springs Village Board, at its most recent meeting, hired Andzeliak Bugajski and Anthony Vosicky as part-time officers and Sabrina Aguilar as community service officer.
Willow Springs Mayor Melissa Neddermeyer read a letter from one of Bugajski’s instructors at the police academy which she said demonstrated how deserving Bugajski is of being hired.
The letter said Bugajski did “an amazing job” at the police academy as class president, adding she “displayed leadership and professionalism at all times.”
Vosicky is also deserving of being hired, Neddermeyer said. He worked with the police department for about one month before he was sworn in, she said.
“We’re happy to have him as part of the department,” Neddermeyer said. “He’s done an outstanding job.”
Aguilar has been “doing a great job” performing duties as community service officer, said Neddermeyer, who added, “were happy to have her as part of the department.”
Each was sworn in by Village Clerk Lori Charles, and then congratulated by Police Chief Jim Ritz while the audience applauded.
