Traffic stop results in 3 tickets

A cracked windshield and tinted tail lights led to a man receiving three tickets from Justice police on May 14.

An officer on patrol at 8:29 a.m. noticed the flaws and pulled over the man’s black 2009 GMC Sierra in the 6900 block of Roberts Road.

Fernando Salazar, 22, town not disclosed, was charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance, and driving on a suspended registration for non-insurance, police said.

Man uses brother’s name in deception attempt

A man who initially gave his brother’s name to police after a traffic stop received four tickets, including one for obstructing identification, police said.

An officer on patrol pulled over a silver Ford pickup driven by Christopher R. Phipps, 46, town not released, because the bed was overflowing with mattresses and other furniture.

He was pulled over in the 8500 block of South 88th Avenue at 1:28 p.m. May 14.

When first asked for his identity, Phipps gave police his brother’s name and date of birth. Police soon discovered the deception. Phipps then admitted his lilcense was revoked because of four DUI convictions, police said.

He was also charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, possession of a controlled substance—cocaine was found in the car—and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Keeping up with friend costs driver

A man who told police he was trying to keep up with a friend heading to McDonald’s was ticketed for speeding, police said.

An officer clocked the man’s blue 2020 BMW doing 68 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone on Roberts Road.

Vladyslav Harasymchuk, 22, town not disclosed, was pulled over and cited in the 7900 block at 5:29 p.m. May 14, police said.

Speeding to answer nature’s call earns 4 tickets

A 25-year-old woman who told police she was speeding because she needed to use the bathroom received four tickets.

An officer on patrol saw a black 2020 Chevy Malibu doing 36 miles per hour in a 20-mph zone on Banks Street at 4:50 p.m. May 15. She was pulled over in the 9300 block of West 79th Street.

Tamyra Williams, town not disclosed, was ticketed for driving without a license, driving without insurance, improper passing on the left and speeding, police said.

Package stolen from outside apartment door

An 18-year-old woman told police that a package containing items worth $264 was stolen after it was delivered May 14 to her apartment in the 8700 block of South 87th Terrace.

The package contained two scarves, four two-piece swimsuits, three pairs of sandals, one blue dress, and one bra, she told police.

Expired registration gets woman tickets

An officer on patrol in the 7400 block of Roberts Road saw a black 2014 Dodge with a 2005 registration at 9:52 a.m. May 19, police said, and pulled it over in the 6500 block of Archer in Summit.

The woman driving said the car was from her father’s dealership and she had 2026 plates in the car but was unable to install them on the vehicle.

Vanessa Villarreal, 38, town not disclosed, was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, and driving on an expired registration, police said.

Tickets for alcohol and pot result from stop

Raymundo Ramos, 41, town not disclosed, received five tickets after a random check found he was driving on a suspended registration at 7:58 p.m. May 21 at Archer Road and Maplewood Drive, police said.

He was cited for driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, and driving on a suspended registration, police said.

He was also ticketed for illegal transportation of alcohol because an open 24-ounce can of Icehouse beer was in the car. He also received a ticket for possession of cannabis found in a plastic bag.
