Dale A. Andrews, a Chicago restaurant owner and chef known for his culinary skill and business leadership, died. He was 67.
Andrews was survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna M. (née Verzak); four children, Lyndsy Galitsky, Nicholas Andrews, Eric Andrews, and Tyler Andrews; and four grandchildren, Nevaeh, Gabriella, Lillyan, and Arlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Josephine (née Gomm) Andrews. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Helgeson.
Andrews built his restaurant business on a reputation for warmth and decisive leadership. Colleagues and family described him as a devoted father and grandfather who prioritized his family above all else. He was known for his unwavering determination and distinctive wit.
He was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears, White Sox, and Hawks, as well as Notre Dame football.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Richard Midway Funeral Home, 5749 Archer Ave., Chicago. A funeral prayer service will follow at 6:30 p.m., with the Rev. Bob Regan officiating. For information, call 773-767-1840.
