Heriberto González, a longtime worker at Brach’s Candy Company who immigrated to the United States from Mexico, died May 1. He was 90.
González was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Jalisco, Mexico. He came to the United States as a young man and worked for many years at Brach’s, where he was known for his honesty and work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evangelina, and his son, Heriberto Jr.
He is survived by 10 children: Trinidad González, Araceli González, Jorge González, Bertha García, Olga Verdín, Teresa González, Ignacio González, Esperanza González, Emma Salazar and Miguel Nevarez. He also is survived by 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, Illinois.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Albert the Great Church, 8029 S. Central Ave., Burbank, Illinois. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
