Four people were arrested in Oak Lawn this week on charges including DUI, retail theft, and outstanding warrants.
DUI after high school event
Brenda P. O’Sullivan, 54, of Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for driving in the wrong lane following a traffic stop at 7:16 p.m. April 16 in the 9400 block of South Austin Avenue.
Police pulled her over after responding to reports of an intoxicated driver leaving an event at Oak Lawn High School. She failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit a breath sample. O’Sullivan is due in court May 20.
Shoplifter provides false name, has outstanding warrant
Quinton P. McCullar Jr., 57, of Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft and obstructing identification at Jewel, 9424 S. Pulaski Road, at 9:56 a.m. April 17.
Police said McCullar took a bag of assorted merchandise out of the store and was found at a nearby bus stop. He provided a false name and was taken into custody to await a hearing because he had an outstanding Cook County warrant for failure to appear in court on a previous charge.
Driver with revoked license had two outstanding warrants
Daniel Aviles, 27, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a revoked license and illegal possession of cannabis, and cited for driving without a front bumper and a defective front windshield following a traffic stop at 10:23 a.m. April 17 at 95th Street and South Merrimac Avenue.
Police said Aviles had two outstanding warrants from Rock Island County and Henry County. He was due in court April 18.
Man steals merchandise from Jewel
Raynann R. Jones, 44, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft at Jewel, 9424 S. Pulaski Road, at 3:57 p.m. April 21.
Police said Jones left the store with two backpacks of merchandise, including a rotisserie chicken and alcohol worth about $102. The backpacks were found in a dumpster and Jones was taken into custody on the east side of 95th Street just west of Pulaski. Court information was not available.
