Orland Park police arrested five people between April 5 and April 8 on charges ranging from retail theft to DUI and disorderly conduct.

Retail theft

A 50-year-old Crestwood woman was charged with retail theft after not scanning a $30 package of meat at Peter’s Fresh Market in Orland Park.

Angelina Miguel told store security her grandson distracted her while she was using self-checkout. She was given a lifetime ban from the store at 15100 S. LaGrange Road.

Disorderly conduct

Mohammad Abdel, 18, of Palos Hills, was charged April 5 with disorderly conduct after police said he gave a false name and argued with officers during questioning about an incident in the parking lot of a business in the 15800 block of LaGrange Road.

DUI and traffic violations

Isidro Torres-Garcia, 36, of Markham, was charged April 5 with DUI, speeding, and driving without a valid license after he was stopped near 159th and Harlem Avenue.

Mario Perez, 28, of Dixmoor, was charged April 5 with DUI, unlawful stopping, improper turning, and disobeying a traffic control light. Police said he stopped in traffic while the light was green about 10:15 p.m. in the 13500 block of Circle Drive. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

Daniel Salgado, 19, of Harvey, was charged April 7 with speeding after police pulled him over in the 8400 block of 143rd Street.
