Roman Kania, a devoted husband and father guided by Christian faith, died March 26, 2026. He was 55.
He is survived by his wife, Monika Kania; his daughter, Claudia Kania; his mother, Zofia Kania; his father, Zygmunt Kania; his sister, Iwona Kania; and his niece, Angelika Fiedorowicz.
Kania was born Oct. 8, 1970, in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland. He was known for his quiet strength, dependable character and compassion for those around him. Family was central to his life, and he expressed his love through steady support and consistent action.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, Illinois.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, 3010 S. 48th Court, Cicero, Illinois. Prayers and a procession will begin at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m.
