Summit Police responded to Argo High School Monday afternoon after the dispatch center received an automated call of an “active threat” at the school.
The school resource officer was contacted and out of an abundance of caution a lock down was initiated.
Responding officers cleared the school in search of any threats with negative results.
It was discovered that the call was a false alarm, the result of a system glitch with the phone system and the message was sent.
Any students who were outside were screened upon re-entry and the remainder of the day was carried out without incident.
