Ryszard Uscinski

Ryszard Uscinski, 72, of Houston, Texas, died March 17, 2026, from complications following an ischemic stroke with hemorrhagic transformation and subsequent hemorrhagic stroke.

He was born April 28, 1953, in Ciechanowiec, Poland.

Uscinski was the husband of Teresa Uscinska (nee Brodowska).

Survivors include wife Teresa; children Margaret (Vito) Oliveri, Anna (Michael) Risty and Krzysztof (Izabela) Uscinski; and eight grandchildren including Sebastian, Olivia, Kloe, Lucia, Mia and Luke.

Uscinski studied mechanical technology in Bialystok, Poland, and immigrated to Chicago in 1987 to pursue the American dream. He worked as an automation maintenance engineer for Quaker Oats, a division of PepsiCo, for 26 years before retiring with highest honors in 2017.

Uscinski was a devout Catholic who appreciated the architecture and history of Catholic churches. He was known for his mechanical aptitude and ability to fix nearly anything. He enjoyed biking, exploring new places and target shooting. He was an avid learner and lifelong reader.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice.

Prayers and procession will begin Thursday, March 26, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to Saint Fabian Church, 7450 W. 83rd St., Bridgeview, for 10 a.m. Mass.

Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
