Le Andre Thomas-Redd, 23, of the 800 block of East 163rd St., South Holland, was charged with fleeing and eluding and multiple other offenses March 6 after he was initially stopped for not having a passenger side mirror, Orland Park police said.

Police saw a green Lexus driving southbound on Harlem Avenue with no side mirror and attempted to stop the vehicle. Thomas-Redd refused to pull over and accelerated after police activated their sirens.

Police discontinued the pursuit as a safety precaution and broadcast the vehicle’s description and license plate to other departments. The vehicle was stopped a short time later by police in Markham.

Thomas-Redd was charged with fleeing and eluding, driving while license was suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, improper display of front registration, mirror violation, and heavily-tinted windows, police said.

He was also charged with possession of cannabis after police found two plastic baggies containing cannabis — one with a leafy substance and the other with THC-infused gummies.
