If history is any indication, thousands of Easter eggs will disappear in minutes.
The Lucky Egg Hunt takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, on four baseball fields at Centennial Park, 15600 West Ave. in Orland Park. Last year, the village scattered 20,000 eggs across the field. They disappeared quickly.
Field 1 will be open to children 8-9 years old. Field 3 will be open to those 5-7 years old. Field 4 will be open to 3-4 year olds. Field 5 will be open to 1-2 year olds.
Aside from the many eggs with smaller prizes and treats, there will be Lucky and Golden tickets in some of the eggs and winners can redeem them for prizes at the concession stand at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Prizes can also be redeemed at the Sportsplex, 11351 W. 159th St. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from March 30 through April 3.
There will also be eggs containing a ticket for Rainbow Cone and winners can redeem them at the restaurant for a free item.
The Easter Bunny will make his annual appearance during the event.
