Martin Lewis Aubrey, 93, of Hickory Hills, died peacefully March 19, 2026, at the VA Home in Manteno, Illinois, where he had been a resident for 10 months.
He was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Springfield, Illinois, to Lewis Aubrey and Anna Netznik.
Aubrey was a graduate of Illinois State University, where he was active in sports and played football. He was employed by Corey Steel and was a resident of Hickory Hills for 65 years.
He married Carol K. Blase on Jan. 31, 1959.
Aubrey was a devout Christian and attended Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading military history books, watching the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago sports teams, and spending time outdoors caring for his yard.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol in 2015 and his daughter in 2008.
He was an only child.
Visitation and Time of Remembrance will be held Thursday, March 19, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, followed by funeral service at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow at Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery, Willow Springs.
