Zofia Malecka, 87, died March 15, 2026.
She was born Zofia Chowaniec and was preceded in death by her husband, Wladyslaw Malecki.
Survivors include children Krzysztof (Urszula) Malecki, Barbara (Wojciech) Kosela and Henryk (Beata) Malecki; nine grandchildren including Monica (Edward) Verdino, Michal (Paige) Malecki, Mateusz (fiancée Nicole) Malecki, Adam (Rachel) Kosela, Sebastian (Kelsey) Kosela, Sara (Anthony) Niemiec, David Kosela, Patrick Malecki and Jessica Malecki; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents Maria Chowaniec (nee Martynczak) and Jozef Chowaniec, and siblings Jozef Chowaniec, Krystyna Miskowicz, Maria Hurek and Karolina Vargosiova.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice.
Prayers and procession will begin Wednesday, March 18, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th St., Palos Hills, for 10 a.m. Mass.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
