Beecher
On March 7, Miguel Campos, 21, of Chicago, was issued citations after a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Upon running the listed subject, it was learned he did not have a valid driver’s license. Campos was issued citations for the listed violations and was issued a notice-to-appear.
On March 7, Jose Gonzalez-Martinez, 20, of Chicago, was issued citations after a traffic stop for equipment violations. Upon running the listed subject, it was learned he did not have a valid driver’s license. Gonzalez-Martinez was issued citations and issued a notice-to-appear.
On March 7, Andrew Ristau, 22, of Crete, was issued citations after a traffic stop for equipment violations. Ristau was issued citations for equipment violations, as well as unlawful possession of cannabis, and issued a notice-to-appear.
Monee
On February 27, at 2:34 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Rick Jay Fernandes, 32, from Fall River, MA. Fernandes was charged with driving with a revoked license and disobeying a traffic control device. During the traffic investigation, officers discovered a stun gun inside the cab. This resulted in his being charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
On February 28, at 12:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monee Police Department to meet with a subject to turn himself in for a warrant. Upon their arrival, officers met with Scott Russell, who is known to Monee Officers. Officers were recently at his residence to serve the warrant. Russell was processed and transported to the Will County Adult detention facility.
On February 28, at 4:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to 5825 W. Monee-Manhattan Road (Super 8 Hotel) in reference to a disturbance. Upon the officers’ arrival, they recognized the caller (victim) and subject with her identified as Charles Grant, who is known to officers from previous contacts. The victim and Grant were involved in a domestic two hours prior. The female (victim) denied physical contact earlier when officers were there, but this time admitted there was contact. Officers separated the parties to interview them. Grant was lawfully detained during the domestic battery investigation. During this time, he attempted to leave the building but was stopped by a Monee Officer at the exit. Grant put his hands on the officer to move him from the door but was unsuccessful. Officers continued to de-escalate the situation, as he paced around the room making verbal threats, until he turned to another officer and made physical contact again. After a struggle with officers, Grant was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, battery – made physical contact of an insulting or provoking manner, resisting a peace officer, and obstructing justice. He was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
On March 3, at 10 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Miguel Abarra, 20, from Crete. Abarra was charged with driving with no valid license, suspended registration, and no insurance. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
