Clifford Whitehouse Jr., of Chicago, died after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to Clifford and Ima Whitehouse and was raised in Bridgeport with five siblings: Wanda (Terry), Phil (Cathy), Jim (Debra), Paul (Mary Sarah) and Theresa (Harold).
Mr. Whitehouse was the devoted husband of Arlene Whitehouse (nee Powers). The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage last July.
Survivors include wife Arlene; children Elaine (Michael), Cliff (Kasia) and Bridget (Matt); grandchildren Matthew, Griffin, Graham, Charlotte and Oliver; brothers-in-law Bud, Pat, Bob (Pam), Joe (Jackie), Ron and Dave (Denise); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by sisters-in-law Marie and Jack.
Mr. Whitehouse was passionate about music, drawing, puzzles and Sudoku, and was an avid Chicago sports fan. He volunteered at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta (formerly St. Barbara) parish, serving as a Eucharistic minister, with the Holy Name Society and the choir.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit.
Mass will be held Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, 2859 S. Throop St., Chicago. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
