Burger lovers in Frankfort have something to look forward to: Berger Station, the popular Chicago Ridge burger spot, is reopening in the suburb this spring under the guidance of seasoned restaurateur Walter Narsolis.

Narsolis, of Tinley Park, has been in the restaurant business since 2007, when he acquired his first Fajita’s Mexican Restaurant. He now owns multiple eateries, including Cheesie’s Grilled Sandwiches in Tinley Park, Crestwood, and Garfield Ridge, as well as Fajita’s locations in Mokena and Countryside. “Everything I’ve learned has all been hands-on,” Narsolis said.

The Chicago Ridge location of Berger Station closed in 2023, but Narsolis said moving to Frankfort was an easy choice. “I have been looking in this area for a while. I believe it’s really the perfect location,” he said. A grand opening is planned for late April.

The Frankfort restaurant will serve the original, acclaimed menu, featuring gourmet burgers offered in eight different styles, including versions with fried onions. The burgers are made from porterhouse steak sourced from Jack & Pat’s Butcher Shop in Chicago Ridge. “This quality of meat gives us a gourmet-style burger. Everything on our menu is great — you can’t go wrong with any of the burgers,” Narsolis said.

In addition to burgers, Berger Station will feature a specialty grilled cheese sandwich. Narsolis, who also owns the Cheesie’s Grilled Sandwiches restaurants, said he is excited to add it to the menu. “The original Berger Station did not have a grilled cheese on the menu, and I believe it is something not a lot of places specialize in,” he said.

Berger Station will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For Frankfort residents, it promises to be a destination for hearty, high-quality burgers and sandwiches crafted with care and passion, with the official grand opening coming in late April.
