For the first time in its 60-year history, all five members of the Worth Park District Board of Commissioners have achieved the Master Level distinction through the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) Board Member Development Program.

Board members Don Dambek, Rebecca Roberts, Kari Lynn Fickes and Melissa Nagel were honored alongside Commissioner Mike McElroy, who earned the distinction in 2025. The recognition was presented during the IAPD Annual Business Meeting at the IAPD/IPRA Conference in Chicago on Jan. 31.

The Board Member Development Program recognizes commissioners who go above and beyond through committee involvement, continuing education, and achievements at the local, state and national levels.

“It’s a proud moment for our board and a testament to their commitment to serving the Worth community,” said a Park District spokesperson. “Achieving the Master Level shows dedication to professional growth and to providing the best recreational opportunities for our residents.”

The accomplishment highlights the district’s long-standing commitment to excellence in parks and recreation, marking a milestone in its six decades of service to the community.
