Katarzyna Sawicki, nee Iwanczuk, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the remarkable age of 103. She was a woman whose life embodied love, family, and resilience.
Katarzyna was the beloved wife of the late Bronislaw Glaz and the late Emil Sawicki. She was a devoted mother to Ryszard (Irena) Glaz, Irena (Stanislaw) Krzeszowiec, and Marian (Jadwiga) Glaz, and a cherished grandmother to Tom Iwasuk, Rafal Glaz, Karolina Simmons, Filip Palasz, Mark Krzeszowiec, Daniel Glaz, Annette Glaz, and the late Arthur Glaz. She took great pride in her role as great-grandmother to Adam Iwasuk, Jace Simmons, Roman Glaz, Archer Forest, and Konrad Glaz.
Katarzyna was the loving daughter of the late Maria (née Szarafin) and Daniel Iwanczuk, and was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, all of whom will remember her warmth, wisdom, and enduring spirit.
Visitation: Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.
Funeral: Saturday, February 21, 2026, 9:00 AM Prayers and Procession from the funeral home to Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th Street, Palos Hills, Illinois, for 10:00 AM Mass.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
Katarzyna’s legacy of faith, love, and family will be treasured by all who knew her.
