The Hodgkins Board of Trustees unanimously approved the promotions of officers Claralicia Johanson and Allan Mills Jr. to sergeant at its Dec. 8 meeting.

Police Chief Ryan Carrasquillo recommended both promotions, telling trustees the officers are hardworking community members who have contributed to the department’s success.

Johanson joined the Hodgkins Police Department exactly 11 years before her promotion date. Mills joined April 1, 2019.

“Both Clara and Allan are juvenile officers and have both served for a number of years in our investigations unit,” Carrasquillo said. “In their capacity as investigators, they’re both members of professional organizations such as the Major Case Assistance Team and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Additionally, Clara is a current member of the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team. When she started with the department, I was her training officer, then she trained Allan when he came along. Both serve vital roles in this department.”

Mayor Ernest Millsap and the board approved the promotions following Carrasquillo’s recommendation.
