Orland Park police arrested a 31-year-old man last week in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in the parking lot of Papa Joe’s.
On Jan. 31, officers located the stolen vehicle, a 2023 Rolls Royce, parked and unoccupied without license plates. A check of the Vehicle Identification Number check confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Fort Bend County, Texas, on Jan. 24, 2026. Officers established surveillance while awaiting the driver’s return.
The individual later returned to the parking lot, used keys to unlock and enter the vehicle, and was taken into custody without incident. Witnesses identified the individual as the same person who had arrived in and parked the vehicle at that location earlier in the day.
During the investigation, officers found the individual in possession of a stolen Illinois license plate registered to a 2006 Audi, along with hardware commonly used to affix license plates. Further investigation determined the Rolls-Royce had been stolen while in transit during shipment from Texas to North Carolina.
The individual, identified as Husamuldeen Abed, was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 1 Felony) and Possession of Stolen Property (Class A Misdemeanor).
