A custom-designed railcar promoting heart health will travel across the nation starting this month, carrying the American Heart Association’s “Move More!” message to communities nationwide.
The initiative, unveiled Jan. 6 at Ingredion’s Bedford Park plant, is a partnership between the ingredient supplier, rail company GATX Rail North America, and the American Heart Association. The railcar will move across the country to encourage healthier lifestyles.
“This unveiling ceremony celebrates our shared commitment to promoting heart health before the railcar departs on a continuous cross-country journey. As it travels the nation, this mobile initiative will inspire healthier lifestyles and encourage communities everywhere to take meaningful steps toward better heart health,” said Rick Wion, Director of Communications for Ingredion.
Kimberly Bors, with the American Heart Association Board of Directors in Chicago, said the partnership strengthens the AHA’s reach. “Support from Ingredion and GATX allows the association to share this important message and carry out our lifesaving mission. Better cardiovascular health helps lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other major health problems,” Bors said.
Ingredion is a global provider of ingredient solutions for food, beverage, and industrial applications, with headquarters in Westchester. The company serves customers in more than 120 countries.
