Michael J. Walsh passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted father of Jason (Kelli) Walsh, Brian Walsh, and Lauren (Kyle) Riordan, and a proud grandfather to Zoe, Jack, and Rosie.
Michael was the brother of the late John, Marty, Eileen, Maureen, Barbara, and Coleen, and a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Walsh. He will be lovingly remembered by Karen and Natalie.
A longtime resident of Chicago’s Clearing neighborhood, Michael dedicated over 40 years of service to the Chicago Tribune Company, retiring just last year.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until prayers at 11:00 a.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem). A Mass in celebration of his life will follow at Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Symphorosa Church at 11:30 a.m., with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
