Karl Koch, age 93, a longtime resident of Summit, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Karl was a proud United States Army veteran whose life was marked by service, kindness, and quiet dignity.

Karl was the longtime companion of Judy Pollick and the dear uncle of Ariane (Billy) Hedley of Australia. He was a charming man and a consummate gentleman, known for his generous spirit, sharp mind, and wealth of knowledge, which he delighted in sharing with others. His legacy of service, love, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be deeply missed by his many friends and especially by his extended family, the Blazonczyk family, who lovingly cared for Karl for many years, ensuring he lived a well-cared-for and happy life until his reward in heaven. A special thank you is extended to his devoted caregiver, Ora Hart, whose compassion and respect meant so much to Karl.

Per his wishes, Karl was cremated. His cremains will be interred with Military Honors, followed by a brief Service in Celebration of his life at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:15 p.m.
