Dominic Russo

Dominic Angelo Russo passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 88.

He was the devoted husband of Caron Ellen Russo (nee Cody) and a loving father to Dominic M. Russo, Michael (Catherine) Russo, Annette (Dave) Turoci and Anthony (Ronda) Russo. A proud and devoted grandfather to Dominic (Amanda) Russo, Nathan (Eileen Torpy) Russo, Natalie Russo, Nicole Russo, Jaclyn (John) Keating, Michael Russo, Joseph Plukarski, Monica (Thomas) Hool, Jakob Russo, Daniel (Nicole) Russo and Isabella Russo. Cherished great-grandfather of Tommy, Henry and Dominic Hool, Benjamin Hool, Luca and Ruby Russo, Matthew Flood, June Keating and Josie Keating.

Dominic was the loving brother of “Chickie” (Carol) Russo and the treasured father-in-law of the late Stan Plukarski. He was also a fond brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

Born in Chicago on December 28, 1937, Dominic’s Catholic faith, kindness and quiet strength guided his life. He had a remarkable way of making others feel welcome and valued. Dominic took great pride in his long career with the City of Chicago as a Local 150 Operating Engineer, beginning in 1971. Chicago was more than his hometown, it was an essential part of who he was.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 8245 W. 111th Street, Palos Hills, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip, Illinois.

Dominic will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his faith, devotion to family and unwavering pride in his work and city.
