Jose Reyes, 37, of the 10800 block of Donna Lane, Orland Park, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless driving and illegal lane usage December 19 after police said he swung a baseball bat at another driver near 159th Street and 108th Avenue.
Police arrived on the scene and ordered Reyes to drop the bat, which he did.
Witnesses told police Reyes was “driving at a high rate of speed” from Ravinia Avenue onto westbound 159th Street and cut off another driver.”
At the stoplight, the driver reportedly asked Reyes why he was driving erratically when Reyes then exited his car with a baseball bat and “threatened to break his nose” before driving away, police said.
