Winter has settled into Orland Park, and with it comes the familiar scrape of blades on ice as the village’s Winter Wonderland Ice Rink opens for the season in Centennial Park.

The outdoor rink, located at 15600 West Avenue and Fun Drive, is welcoming skaters of all ages for a classic cold-weather pastime designed with families in mind. From first-time skaters clutching the boards to seasoned gliders circling the ice, the rink offers a space for residents to embrace the winter months outdoors.

Beyond the ice itself, the Winter Wonderland site features a warming house where visitors can take a break from the cold, rent skates and gather between laps. Skate rentals are available for $3 per pair, making the rink accessible to those who may not own their own equipment. Helmets are provided at no cost and are required for children younger than 8, reinforcing a focus on safety.

The park atmosphere extends beyond skating, with bonfires and family-friendly activities adding to the seasonal experience and encouraging visitors to linger. Skaters who bring their own skates may use the rink daily beginning at sunrise, offering early risers a quiet start to their winter day.

Village officials encourage residents to take advantage of the rink throughout the season, calling it a simple way to enjoy the outdoors, stay active and celebrate winter in the community.
