Cindy S. Wendel, nee Joens, passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 52.
Beloved wife of Richard Wendel and loving mother of Addy, Taylor, and Alex. Cherished sister of Vernon Joens Jr., sister-in-law Mary Kay Joens (late Alan Sr.), and aunt to Alan Joens Jr. (Stephanie), as well as many cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Joens Sr. and Barbara Joens.
Cindy earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from McCormick Jr College in Elmhurst and worked with skill and integrity in the accounting profession. She also served as a dedicated Girl Scout Leader, nurturing courage and character in young lives. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, she found joy in reading and assembling jigsaw puzzles.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.
Funeral services will take place Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Bethania Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
