The body found Saturday morning in a grassy area near Archer Avenue and La Grange Road has been identified as Christian Doss, who had been missing since early November.
Doss, 21, of Justice, has been missing since the night of Nov. 7. He was reported missing to the Willow Springs Police Department on Nov. 10. He was last seen near 83rd Street and 88th Avenue in Justice.
Police were notified about 8:30 a.m. Dec. 20 that a body had been spotted near the interchange in Willow Springs.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains as Doss on Monday morning.
A death investigation is being handled by the Willow Springs Police Department.
His family posted a message on Facebook Monday: “It is with heavy hearts that we share an update regarding Christian Doss.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed, shared, checked in, and showed our family so much love during this time. Unfortunately, the body found in Willow Springs has been confirmed as Christian.
“We are asking for continued prayers as our family navigates this unimaginable loss. The world became too heavy for him, and we pray he is now at peace.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for caring about our family and for surrounding us with love, prayers, and compassion.”

Doss was a 2023 graduate of Argo High School and school Principal Brandon Cotter extended condolences to his family and loved ones.
“Christian’s passing is a profound loss, and our hearts are heavy as we mourn alongside his family, friends, classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. As an Argo graduate, Christian will always be part of our school community, and his memory will continue to live on in the lives he touched during his time with us and beyond.
“During moments like these, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, unity, and supporting one another. We know this loss is deeply felt by many, and we encourage our community to surround Christian’s loved ones with care, understanding, and kindness in the days ahead.
