Great Lakes Naval recruits will be arriving by bus on Christmas Day for the annual holiday meal held by the Marrs-Meyer American Legion Post 991, 11001 S. Depot St.
The recruits will be arriving at about 9:30 a.m. Post members and residents are invited to line up along Depot Street to greet the recruits between 8:30 and 9 a.m.
“We have about 50 American flags that we are going to pass out,” said Urban, who takes part in holding the event.
Doughnuts and coffee will be served to the recruits when they arrive and anyone who comes by. Dinner will be served to recruits later in the day. Visitors will also be served a meal. The recruits will be leaving at about 5 p.m.
