Glen W. Tucker, 90, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Virginia (Ginny) by his side at his home in Ft. Myers, Florida, on December 14, 2025. Born on April 19, 1935, in Winchester, Tennessee, he was the son of Granville “Ben” and Lacy (nee Hunt) Tucker.
As an infant, his parents moved to Harvey, where he was a long-time resident until moving to Beecher in 1974. He was the eldest of three sons. Glen graduated from Thornton Township High School in 1953 and went on to proudly serve his country. He joined the U.S. Army and was a Paratrooper in the 11th Airbourne stationed in Augsburg, Germany. His career, as an award-winning sales consultant, spanned five decades, including time as a Route Salesman for Intercontinental Baking Co. and a Medicare Sales Field Agent with Humana, helping seniors with their healthcare insurance needs.
He was the proud father of Scott (Sandi) Tucker of Beecher, Susan “Kelly” Stluka of Manteno, Blaise Tucker of Beecher, and stepdaughter Dawn Line of Matteson. Glen was “Papa” to grandchildren Erin (Matt) Purse of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, A.J (Kristin) Tucker, Nicholas Stluka, and Brendan (Brittany) Tucker, all of Beecher, Brittany (Boris) Lucic of Carol Stream, and Zach (Jenn) Stluka of Palatine.
Glen is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Virginia Tucker, of Ft. Myers; brother, Milton Tucker of Munster, Indiana; sons, Scott Tucker and Blaise Tucker, both of Beecher; and stepdaughter, Dawn Line of Matteson; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was blessed also to be survived by numerous family members and an incredible circle of friends, including his “golf” family. He absolutely loved golf and was a member of Heritage Palms Country Club (where he lived in Ft. Myers) and many leagues throughout his lifetime, making friends too numerous to list.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Granville and Lacy Tucker; his brother, Howard Tucker; and his beloved daughter, Susan “Kelly” Stluka, who passed suddenly in 2023.
He would tell you his greatest moniker was being called “Great Papa” to his 10 great-grandchildren: Colin, Molly, Easton, Ryan, Brynn, Mason, Charlotte, Camden, Leah, and Mallory. He was very much looking forward to greeting his 11th great-grandchild, due in late March to Brittany and Boris.
He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and dedication to family.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life in April, with more details to follow.
