Bartlomiej J. Obrochta

Bartlomiej Jan Obrochta-Bartus, also known affectionately as Bart or Bartek to his friends and family, was born on October 18, 1973, in Zakopane, Poland, and passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025.

He is survived by a loving family who will miss him dearly: his late father, Walenty Obrochta-Bartus; his devoted parents, Janina and Henryk Sobanski; his beloved daughters, Kamila Obrochta-Bartus and Natalia Huk; his caring son, Jan Obrochta-Bartus; his dear siblings, Monica (Marek) Krzysiak, Robert (Malwina) Sobanski, and Magdalena (Arthur) Ruiz; his partner, Mary Kozicki; Sylwia Golebiowski, mother of Kamila and Jan Obrochta-Bartus; and Beata Huk, mother of Natalia Huk. Bart also leaves behind cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Bart’s passion for music was evident to all who knew him. He found joy in melodies and rhythms, often sharing his favorite tunes with friends and family. His love for Star Wars was more than a hobby; it was a thread in the fabric of his identity, inspiring countless conversations and debates that showcased his humor and intelligence. Bart’s legacy is one of laughter, learning, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.

As we bid farewell to Bart, we celebrate a life well lived, full of moments that will be cherished forever. His spirit will live on in the stories shared, the music played, and the memories held close to our hearts. Bart’s journey on this earth may have ended, but his impact will be felt for generations to come.

Visitation: Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.

Funeral: Saturday, December 20, 2025, 9:00 AM Prayers and Procession to begin from the funeral home to Saint Fabian Church, 7450 W. 83rd Street, Bridgeview, Illinois, for a 10:00 AM Mass.

Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
