On December 4, Peotone Police Officers responded to a reported hit-and-run traffic crash, at 88th Avenue and Peotone-Wilmington Road. The driver of the second vehicle reported that while stopped at a stop sign, another vehicle made a turn and struck their vehicle before leaving the scene without stopping. The reporting driver attempted to follow the involved vehicle but was unable to get it to stop, although the reporting driver was able to provide a trailer license plate associated with the fleeing vehicle. Officers observed damage to the reporting vehicle consistent with the collision. The incident remains under investigation.

On December 10, Peotone Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Hauert Street, after an individual placed more than 10 non-emergency 911 calls. The caller repeatedly yelled at and made derogatory remarks toward 911 operators and continued calling after being warned to cease unless reporting an actual emergency. K. Barton, 36, was taken into custody and transported to the Peotone Police Department for processing. A mandatory notice-to-appear was issued for felony disorderly conduct in Will County Circuit Court on a specified date and time. The individual was advised that 911 is to be used only for actual emergencies.

On December 11, Alsip Police Department requested assistance in checking the parking area of the Peotone Travel Center, in the 600 block of 88th Avenue, for a trailer that had been reported stolen on November 30. Alsip PD had received information indicating the trailer may be located at this address. A Peotone Police Officer responded and confirmed the trailer was parked on the property. Alsip Police Department responded to the scene to conduct further investigation and process the incident.
