The Orland Park Public Library burst into full winter cheer as families poured in for its annual Winter Wonderfest, a lively kickoff to the library’s Winter Reading season that blended holiday magic with hands-on fun.
Hundreds of visitors made their way through the building at 14921 S Ravinia Ave, Orland Park, which transformed into a holiday playground filled with warm drinks, craft stations and reading activities. Live piano music drifted through the lobby, adding to the festive mood as children and adults explored the celebrations.

Outside, an ice sculptor drew a crowd with dazzling winter-themed creations carved on the spot. In The Backyard, two goats, from Nature’s Trail Yoga in Orland Park, dressed in holiday sweaters quickly became the event’s most photographed guests, delighting families and adding a playful twist to the seasonal fun.
The afternoon wrapped up with laughter and applause during a spirited performance of Juggling Funny Stories, giving the celebration a joyful finale.
“We are happy to bring the community together for this winter reading kickoff event,” said Jackie Boyd, Communications Manager for the Orland Park Public Library. “Winter Wonderfest is special because it connects families with reading, the library, creative ideas, and each other as we head into the winter season.”
Boyd thanked attendees for helping make the day a success and reminded residents that Winter Reading sign-ups remain open both online and at the library.
