A new sit-down Mexican restaurant is coming to the city of Countryside.
Don Javi Taco Grill is moving into 5621 S. La Grange Road. That’s the former home of The Halal Guys, which offered Middle East cuisine.
Interior work is ongoing at the new restaurant.
“They have four other restaurants (in the Chicago area),” Mayor Sean McDermott said.
Don Javi Taco Grill will be on the east side of La Grange Road, just south of Taco Bell.
The mayor added that his son “was devastated” when The Halal Guys closed.
“That was one of his favorite restaurants,” McDermott said.
