Sriluk Sungkapan

Sriluk Sungkapan, 82, a devoted mother, grandmother and nurse, died Nov. 14, 2025, in Palos Heights due to complications from a stroke.

She was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Supan Buri, Thailand. Sungkapan was the beloved wife of Sarun and loving mother of Supagon “Sonny,” Chinnawat “Shane,” and Gridsada “Don,” and a cherished mother-in-law to Sara Christine, Elyse Nicole and Samantha Rose. She was the proud grandmother of Ethan Khuan, Maxwell Colin, Logan John, Devin Samuel, Ashland Dean, Lucille Rose, Lincoln Alan and Quinn Rose Sri.

Sungkapan had a long and dedicated career as a Charge NICU Nurse at Cook County and Englewood Hospital, where she cared for countless families during critical moments. A devout Buddhist, her faith guided her life and offered strength and comfort to her loved ones.

She enjoyed karaoke, sports, and travel, often cheering on the Bears and spending time on the basketball and badminton courts. Traveling with her husband, she visited destinations including Alaska, Hawaii, and Thailand. Above all, she loved playing with her grandchildren and creating joyful memories.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice. A Buddhist funeral chant service will be held Sunday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow.
