Sister Sylvia Puchoras, SSC, 84, a devoted member of the Sisters of St. Casimir for 63 years, died Nov. 7, 2025.
She taught elementary school at Nativity BVM, Immaculate Conception, and Saints Peter and Paul in Chicago; St. Norbert’s in Northbrook, and St. Joan of Arc in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Sister Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Walter James and Ann (Petreikis) Puchoras, and her sister Barbara (James) Parker. She is survived by two sisters, Dolores Roberts and Mary (Richard) Mikolainis, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Franciscan Village, 1270 Village Drive, Lemont, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Casimir Cemetery.
